Twelve years of online journalism experimentation from Galicia: lights and shadows

Abstract

The online journalism is crossing the frontier of the twelve years old with relevant challenges for the future and important endorsements obtained in this time’s experience. The consolidation of these new media opened a new window in the media system and allowed the birth of a new journalism approach, with its characteristics and specifi ties. Journalists earned knowledge to deal with the work in the new channel, according with the needs of the new practices, and the Academia opened work lines to analize the new reality. The results from the Galician experience along this time show lights and shadows, but also important challenges because online journalism is a reality in the present and will be in the future.
