Abstract

In his journalistic career, François Mauriac has cultivated many genres, as « columnist », the chronic, the « bloc-notes » - main blog precursor- and, especially the editorial. Free spirit, renowned controversial, has contributed to the art of editorial with a really personal style, so the singularity is very linked to liberty of tone. Is part of a literary framework, his editorial has the characteristic of being eminently political, often with common thread to show a sense of the « destiny of the nation » notion. Also, Mauriac will always defend the place of morality and justice in politics. The article analyzes his editorial position at the newspaper Le Figaro about rise of totalitarianisms, from 1936 to 1946.
