Abstract

The publishing house of press is one of the diff erent variants of the cultural industry and for these reason it objective is the same of any other business with spirit of profit. Nevertheless, the journalistic company has the peculiarity of contributing to the creation of a public permanent space of debate in which discussing the public matters that have to be determined by mutual agreement. For the creation of a public permanent democratic space there is necessary the independence of the journalistic publishing houses. The necessary and normally sufficient condition of the political independence is the economic autonomy. Among the journalistic industry functions, maybe the most peculiar is that it represents ideological trends and social attitudes in the public space.
