Abstract

The technological development has propitiated new habits of informative consumption in the citizenship. The news, understood as a good to share and exchange in the market (commodity), has been adapted to a new hybrid media system. We approach an exploratory investigation with the objective of elaborating a map that reflects which tasks of the life cycle of the news have been affected by the digital revolution. During the first six months of 2019, ten in-depth interviews were conducted in which the experience of ten professionals from leading Spanish media was collected. This first approach allows us to affirm that technology has modified the concept of news and its life cycle and opens the door to descriptive study.
