Abstract

Citizens are leading the charge in their own evolution as proactive users. The journalism industry is seeking out new models that deliver added value through differentiation. An innovative trend in the profession, based on commitment and dialogue between journalists and civil society that seeks to forge ever-stronger bonds between both sides, where mutual respect for respective roles is paramount. Media companies implement new ways of relating to their audiences. This article analyzes the implementation strategy of engagement techniques of four national native digital media: Civio, eldiario.es, Maldita and 5W and concludes with a proposal on market trends.
