This research aims to identify the different uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in the productive routine of journalistic media. Through in-depth interviews with journalism professionals and a literature review, we observe how AI affects newsroom dynamics, how it is developed in real cases and what profiles are necessary for its implementation in three Spanish case studies: RTVE, El País and Newtral. It is concluded that the technological evolution of the sector and the introduction of AI require a change of mentality in newsrooms, overcoming the fear of substitution, valuing creative capacity and human editorial decisions. It also identifies the emergence of mixed profiles -journalism and computer science- to be able to understand artificial intelligence projects and introduce them into the journalistic routine.
