Las ilustraciones en la prensa española de 1905: estudio iconográfico de la cobertura del III centenario del Quijote

Abstract

The third centenary of the publication of the first part of Quixote in 1905 had a major impact in the Spanish press at that time. In addition to news and opinion, the popular book of Miguel de Cervantes was captured in the pages of newspapers across different iconographic resources. In this study we had made a tour of all of them, both illustrations and photographs, along the main newspapers of that time, like El Liberal, El Imparcial, La Correspondencia de España or La Vanguardia, in order to analyze their content, origin, meaning and symbology.
