Abstract

This article analyzes all the editorials of Albert Camus about press, making a thematic proposal and putting them in perspective with his legacy in today’s journalism. The methodology is based on analysis of all published editorials about press in Combat, between August 1944 and June 1947, a corpus of thirty editorials, and an unpublished article in Le Soir Républicain censored on November 25, 1939. This research analyze too the present heredity of Camus as a reference model of the French journalism in the digital age from a book « Combat pour une presse libre » by Edwy Plenel of Mediapart . In conclusion, Camus develops a theory of journalism, which can be considered a «manifesto for critical journalism» from an ethical perspective.
