Scientific review process

Review system

The journal Textual & Visual Media carries out a rigorous peer-review process using the double-blind method.

The evaluation process involves the following stages:

• Initial Notification: Authors will receive an automatic notification from the system when they submit a manuscript for review, which serves as confirmation of the submission. This notification is sent to the author's email immediately upon completing the submission within the system.
• Review Process: Once the article is received, the Editorial Committee conducts an initial review to ensure that it complies with the journal's publication guidelines. This initial review considers the following aspects: relevance to the journal’s theme and scope; the interest and timeliness of the proposal; and strict adherence to all the publication norms of the journal.
• Original Review: If the proposal meets these three criteria, it moves on to the blind peer review process; if not, it is returned to the author, and the procedure is closed.

Peer review

The journal Textual & Visual Media has a broad panel of national and international expert reviewers. These reviewers are independent experts who are not connected to the authors (e.g., co-authors, colleagues).

The manuscript will be sent anonymously to specialists in the article’s subject area. Based on a minimum of two opinions, the editor will decide whether the article is publishable (either in its original form or with modifications) or should be rejected. The possible outcomes are Publishable, Not Publishable or Publishable with Modifications. In the case of a tie between two reviewers, the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer.

Authors will receive the anonymous evaluation reports so they can make the necessary improvements or provide responses accordingly.
