Desigualdad de género y Planes de Igualdad en el entorno laboral de periodistas en España

This article analyses the perceptions that women press journalists have about labour inequality contextualizing them within the framework of Equality Plans of the media where they work. The method for data collection is the survey, aimed at women journalists from El País, El Mundo and ABC. In addition, the Equality Plans of these newspapers are examined and contrasted with the responses of the professionals. The results corroborate the existence of a salary gap, a glass ceiling and difficulties in accessing command positions, but also show problems not previously verified in this group, such as difficulties in conciliation, presence of machismo or harassment. Another novelty is that more than half of those surveyed are unaware of the existence of Equality Plans in their companies and that their perceptions do not seem to correspond to what such Plans reflect, which would not contribute towards equality.
