Del silenciamiento al protagonismo: Pedro Sánchez en las portadas de El País (mayo 2016 a mayo 2019)

Abstract

   The goal of this paper is to analyse the treatment that information relating to Pedro Sanchez receives from the newspaper “El País” during the three years between May 2016 and May 2019. To achieve that goal, I review the content of all news published on the front page of the news mentioned above paper. I use a quantitative approach and base my analysis on the theory of personalisation of politics and framing of the politician. The results show how the media treatment Pedro Sanchez receives from the newspaper changes after his inauguration as President. He goes from silence to prominence, from the invisibility of the socialist politician to personifying the image of President of our Government
