The influence of mass media and social network in the publishing industry

The alternative communication models born with the internet have affected the traditional communication ecosystem, altering not only the online editions of the traditional mass media, but also the digital natives and new ways of communication such as blogs and, specially, the social network, generating a new figure: the prosumer. The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of this new communication ecosystem in the publishing industry.
