Graphic journalism from a semiotic perspective: information, interpretation and opinion about charts

Th is theoretical approach wants to demonstrate from a semiotic perspective that the criteria that diff erentiate information, interpretation and opinion in the written journalism are in essence equivalents to those that also prevail in the graphical journalism. Infographic is conceived here as a form of journalistic expression that, based on the use of graphical resources, involves the information display according to a certain psychological attitude. In this sense, we propose a technique based on the content analysis to be able to carry out an appropriate taxonomy of infographics.
